There's a conversation that should have happened long before now.
Before the first hot flash hit me in the middle of a work meeting. Before I found myself staring at the ceiling at 2am wondering why sleep had suddenly become something I had to chase. Before I caught my reflection and thought — when did my skin change? When did I change?
Nobody warned me. Not really.
Sure, I'd heard the word menopause. I knew it was coming eventually, the way you know a storm is in the forecast — you just don't quite believe it until it's right there at your door.
But the full picture? The day to day reality of navigating this as a professional woman who still had a career to show up for, a life to live, a self to maintain? Nobody handed me a roadmap for that.
So I had to find my own way. And somewhere along that journey, Pura Everyday was born.
The Moment I Realized I Wasn't Alone
One day, in the middle of everything I was going through, I started talking. Really talking. To other women. And what I found stopped me in my tracks.
Every single one of them had a version of my story.
The colleague who kept a fan under her desk at work. The friend who had switched to silk pillowcases because night sweats had made her regular ones unbearable. The woman I barely knew who teared up when I mentioned perimenopause because she thought she was the only one feeling what she was feeling.
We were all going through it. And we were all going through it quietly.
That silence — that's what I wanted to break.
What Menopause Actually Feels Like From The Inside
Let me be real with you, because that's what The Journey is all about.
Menopause isn't just hot flashes. It's a full body, full life experience that can touch almost every part of who you are. Here's what I personally experienced and what so many women I've spoken to have shared:
🔥 The Hot Flashes They don't ask permission. They don't check your calendar. They show up in board meetings, on first dates, during important phone calls and in the middle of the night. The heat is intense, sudden and for many women, relentless.
😴 The Sleep Disruption This one hit me hard. I had always been someone who valued her sleep. Menopause changed that relationship completely. Between night sweats, racing thoughts and hormonal shifts, getting a full night of rest became one of my biggest daily challenges.
✨ The Skin & Body Changes My skin became drier. Less elastic. Different in ways I had to learn to understand and care for in a whole new way. My body was redistributing itself and asking me to pay attention in ways I hadn't before.
💼 The Professional Juggle This is the part that doesn't get talked about enough. Trying to lead meetings, meet deadlines, make decisions and show up with confidence while your body is sending constant signals — that takes a particular kind of strength that professional women in menopause deserve enormous credit for.
💛 The Emotional Landscape The mood shifts. The moments of feeling unlike yourself. The grief, sometimes, for the version of you that existed before — and the slow, beautiful discovery of who you are becoming.
What I Want You To Know
You are not broken. You are not declining. You are not losing yourself.
You are in a transition — one of the most significant of your life — and you deserve every tool, every resource and every ounce of support available to help you move through it with grace, comfort and confidence.
That's why every product at Pura Everyday exists. Not to fix you — because you don't need fixing — but to support you. To make the hard days softer. To give your body what it's asking for. To help you feel at home in yourself again.
Where Do We Go From Here?
This blog — The Journey — is going to be our space. Yours and mine.
We'll talk about everything here. Hot flashes and cooling strategies. Sleep rituals and restoration. Skincare for changing skin. Movement and wellness. The emotional side of it all. And the real, unfiltered stories of women navigating this season of life without apology.
No shame. No silence. Just honest conversation and genuine support.
Welcome to The Journey. I'm so glad you're here. 🌿
